Meet Jerry + Alison

How did an Irish lad meet a girl from Colorado in Kentucky? Jerry, a jockey and aspiring race horse trainer, had freshly arrived in Lexington from Ireland to spend a working holiday at Keeneland and Alison was a horse loving college student at the University of Kentucky at the time they met. While out at a bar they met through mutual friends…. and then didn’t see each other again for five years.

When they reconnected it was, once again, at a bar- the old fashioned way. :)

Though their story began in Kentucky and they currently call Maryland home, Jerry + Alison decided to tie the knot in Alison’s hometown of Colorado Springs, Colorado at the Club at Flying Horse just down the street from her parent’s home making the nuptials a destination wedding for the Irish side of the family!

As weather in the Rocky Mountains can be, it was a surprisingly chilly day on June 22nd with a chance of storms teasing the weather forecast. It began to storm as Alison put on her wedding dress but let up just in time for their outdoor patio ceremony. The sun and Pike Peak found their way through the cloudy skies as Jerry and Alison said β€œI do!” in front of their family and friends from near and far.

Their celebration was filled with laughter from Leah and John’s toasts. Leah proclaimed it would be a party to remember as the Wilaby’s know how to host and John joked that Jerry had so far followed in his footsteps so with twins on the way- they surely have an exciting future ahead of them. ;) Leah’s toast definitely held true so only time will tell if Jerry + Alison keep following in John’s footsteps. Dancing went on until the early hours of the next morning fueled by late night tacos and donuts.

SlΓ‘inte (health and cheers) to the newlyweds! It was truly such a joy to document your celebration in Colorado and I hope the photos do your memories justice. I can’t wait to see where the future takes you both!
