Zainab met her husband, Humza, while in college. The college sweethearts married in 2017 but had an unusually long gap between their next Muslim marriage celebrations planned to be held in 2020. With the world rocked by a pandemic they changed course and held their Rukhsati, a traditional send off by the elders of the family, at Zainab’s parent’s home in Lexington, KY.

Jessica was the type of girl who swore she’d never get married… until she met Mathew- obviously. :) As plans came together they decided on an intimate wedding on Earth Day, April 22nd, with sunrise ceremony plans in place… life dealt them a new card- a pandemic. They persevered with their original date and got married on the front lawn of Jessica’s mother’s house with an intimate affair but traded sunrise for sunset and spaced chairs for their family 6 feet apart. It was a day filled with joy that turned out absolutely perfect for them. I hope you enjoy seeing some favorites!

When Izabela studied abroad at the University of Kentucky many years ago she fell in love with Kentucky and decided to come back for Graduate School! Although she had to leave her beloved Belgian Malinois pup home in Brazil, her fiancé, Marcio, came to Kentucky with her. They decided to get married with an intimate courthouse ceremony and celebration in Lexington!

Trey + Julia married on a warm Saturday afternoon in September surrounded by their children, family and closest friends in Versailles, Kentucky at Wildside Winery, a place they love to visit together. It was a beautiful day focused on what meant most to them and I loved getting to document it for them. I hope you enjoy a some of my favorites! <3

It’s seamless interior boasts stone floors, reclaimed wood walls, hidden entrances off the main space and multiple sets of double doors that open up to views of the surrounding fields and forest (and none of that includes the phenomenal upstairs spaces!). Join Ray + Whitney for their spring wedding day at the Historic Bell House in Lexington, Kentucky! These two musicians met ten years ago and in the years since have built a deep and beautiful love for each other that’s simple, honest and passionate. Their day was filled with family, community, music and sentimental touches that didn’t leave any eye in the house dry at some point during the celebration. Enjoy!

For a couple who spent most of their lives living within 15 minutes of each other they finally started hanging out due to geographical convenience when they both moved to Cincinnati in 2016. Since then they’ve built a life together in Over the Rhine with their cats Godric and Helga. They got engaged last summer in the industrial loft home they share, much like Monica and Chandler did on “Friends”. Decidedly non-traditional, they chose to celebrate their love with a Friday elopement in Alms Park, portraits in Over the Rhine, the neighborhood where they fell in love, drinking at their favorite dives and a next day dance party at the Oscar Event Center with their favorite loved ones. It was truly very them! Enjoy!

While on a family vacation to the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky Addy, who’s 6, fell in love with the ornament display at the park and suggested that her Mom, Cathy, and her fiancé of 3 years, Nate, should getting married there. After years of procrastinating the planning of a big wedding they took Addy’s suggestion seriously and put a wedding together in just 6 DAYS! Cathy’s grandfather officiated the ceremony and their closest family members (and a collection of horse park visitors that evening) watched them step inside the ornament and have an impromptu ceremony inside the ornament! When Peter + Heather met they knew within a few dates that they had found their match! Both nerdy and shy, Peter found he could be his Dungeons and Dragon’s loving self with Heather’s all things Disney, Harry Potter and Fall Out Boy loving self. On September 30th, 2018 they wed under overcast skies at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois with portraits in the hedge garden and pinky promise vows. True to them, their celebration also featured board games, Fall Out Boy sing-a-longs on the dance floor and brunch! Join me for their beautiful day!
