Meet Lucas + Abi

When Lucas, a lighting designer from Texas, met Abi, a life-long writer and running enthusiast from Kentucky, there was instant chemistry. By their third date he was 3D printing a helmet for Abi’s cat, which was mentioned in her wedding vows. Sounds like history was made right there :) Abi has written down their life together since their first date and gifted that portion of their love story to Lucas in a book on the morning of their wedding day. How absolutely incredible is that?

Since their relationship began they’ve traveled the world and built a beautiful foundation together. After their engagement Abi perfectly summed up all the “yes’s” she looks forward to, “Yes to 100,000 future bowls of ramen. Yes to exploring the desert, skiing the mountains, swimming the oceans, floating the rivers. Yes to listening to roosters crow from a hot air balloon at sunrise. Yes to holding your hand while we debate politics. No to mayo. Yes to seeing music through light. Yes to learning Portuguese one word at a time. Yes to working long nights side by side. Yes to falling asleep watching B movies in the backyard. Yes to cooking in tandem like we can read each other’s minds. Yes to drive-ins, and bowling alleys, and getting unofficially married at the kitchen table by your aunts. Yes to every time you raise your glass, your plate, your ice cream, your anything to say cheers to life because you don’t take your life for granted. Yes to your patience and kindness and honesty. Yes to never feeling closer to another human in my entire life. Yes to holding hands while we brush our teeth. Yes to underground parties and camping in the swamp and rooftop pools. Yes to your perfect scrambled eggs. Yes to playing card games late into the night with friends at the dining table. Yes to all the times we actually did all the things we dreamed about together out loud.
Yes, let’s do this all together, forever. Yes. Yes! YES!”

They decided to tie the knot this in October 2019 in Abi’s home state of Kentucky. Tucked into the woods at Terrapin Hill Farm in Harrodsburg, Kentucky on a sunny-turned-overcast Saturday, Abi met Lucas under an arch of branches and they promised to add a lifetime of adventures to their love story together. What followed was a pizza dinner, bonfire, celebration under a pavilion with interactive lighting, donuts for dessert and a lantern send off into the night.
